The North Of Scotland distillery was only in operation for less than a quarter of a century but had made its name by making a very flavoursome grain whisky which at the time had been used in some of the best blends like Chivas and Ballantine’s. In 1980 they closed their gates and the very few casks around are very rare and sought after. This bottling was distilled in 1973 and bottled in 2021, it's only a shame that the long process of maturation also evaporated most of the alcohol and it was bottled with ABV of 25%, So technically not a Whisky anymore. Once opened the aromas of fresh paint, buttered corn and ginger are present, the palate is custard, candy, lemon and cola, with a short finish of caramel, apple and popcorn.
