Caol Ila 10 year old Thompson Brothers

The Thompson brothers seem to have a knack at finding exquisite whiskies, bottling them and giving them contemporary and stylish labels, This Caol Ila 10 year old is just that, refilled in American Oak hogsheads and only 500 bottles produced. The coastal sea breeze can be identified when opening this bottle from the Island of Islay along with lemon and peat, but the palate is fruity, honey, ginger and an undertone of brine and peaty, chilli pepper for a long finish along with herbal smokey peat and a touch of rich fruit. A nice collection piece but an even better dram.
