Originally the Knockdhu distillery and in 1993 renamed AnCnoc. AnCnoc peat harvesting tool collection refers to the tools used in harvesting the peat used in making whisky. The Rutter, in this case, is used to cut the peat into squares and out of the ground. This is a peaty whisky but as far as peaty whiskies go it is still quite subtle and is known as a good introduction to peaty whiskies. Once opened the aromas of smoke, honey, apple, cream, and licorice, the palate is peppercorns, smoke, apple, vanilla, and salt with a short finish of lemon juice, pepper, and peat smoke.
