Balblair is owned by the InverHouse distillers, which was bought by Robert ‘Bertie’ Cumming in 1948 after years of staying under the radar. Bertie expanded and modernised the distillery with a contemporary visitor centre that offers an excellent tour which highlights the distillery’s role in Ken Loach’s 2012 movie ‘The Angels’ Share’. Balblair is also committed to reducing its ecological footprint and has changed from oil to gas, which at the time was a huge leap in the ecological direction.
