Balvenie is a single malt whisky distillery located in Dufftown, Scotland, situated next door to its sister distillery Glenfiddich. The distillery produces a sweeter, more honeyed spirit with a subtle peatiness, which sets it apart from other malts. Balvenie's innovative approach to maturation includes cask "finishing", as seen in its iconic DoubleWood expression, where the whisky is first aged in Bourbon casks before being transferred to Sherry casks to add rich, spicy flavours and dried fruit notes. This 12-year-old DoubleWood bottling showcases a complex taste profile with a balance of smooth sweetness and robust spice.
