Located in Dufftown, Scotland, The Balvenie Distillery is a sister distillery to Glenfiddich, yet its style of spirit production is distinctly different, yielding sweeter and more honeyed notes with a hint of light peatiness. Since 1990, when Kininvie Distillery took on some blending responsibilities, Balvenie has flourished as a single malt, renowned for innovative maturation processes and pioneering cask "finishing" techniques, notably with its iconic Doublewood expression introduced in 1993. The distillery still maintains traditional onsite maltings, although it only partially meets its requirements today. This 16-year-old Balvenie offers a complex balance of rich fruit, subtle spices, and gentle oak notes, characteristic of the distillery's signature style.
