From the remote northeast coast of Islay, this Bunnahabhain was distilled in 2001 and bottled for the 2019 Feis Ile festival, showcasing the distillery’s unique character. Originally built to be a self-sufficient island community, Bunnahabhain traditionally matures its spirit in sherry casks, imparting a rich sweetness, though this expression uniquely benefits from a finishing in Sauternes wine casks. The result is a complex whisky at 54.2% ABV, offering a lighter style with subtle fruit notes and a delicate interplay of sweetness. Bottled in January 2019, this limited edition (bottle 931 of 1118) represents a distinctive expression from a historic Islay distillery.
