Fettercairn Distillery, one of Scotland's oldest licensed distilleries since 1825, produces this single malt whisky with traditional methods. The spirit is characterized by its firm, heavy, nutty style, influenced by the use of stainless steel condensers between 1995 and 2009, which added a slightly burnt pot ale character to the new make. This unique combination of stills and cooling ring aids reflux, contributing to a lighter style with hints of complexity. Bottled in 2021 at 48.5% ABV from first-fill bourbon barrels and rye barrels, this whisky is a true representation of Fettercairn's traditional approach.
