One of the very few distilleries in the Campbeltown region, once the whisky capital in Victorian times, back then there were 21 distilleries in Campbeltown, now only 3. Glen Scotia was founded in 1832 by Stewart & Galbraith Co. But has since changed many hands until 2014 when the Loch Lomond group acquired Glen Scotia and has been operating it ever since. This bottle is from the annual Campbeltown Malts festival in 2019, once opened you nose will smell the aromas of the sea breeze, cotton candy, smoke and some fruitiness, the palate is of molasses, summer fruit, pepper and vanilla, with a medium finish of pepper, oak, caramel and cardboard.
