Hazelburn 2004 14 Year Old Oloroso Cask

Hazelburn 14 Year Old is a testament to Campbeltown’s rich whisky heritage, distilled in 2004 at the modern Springbank distillery – a revival of a name once synonymous with the region’s peak as the ‘Whisky Capital of the World’. This triple-distilled spirit, unusually unpeated for the area, matured exclusively in fresh Oloroso sherry casks, imparting a light and fruity character. Expect a smooth dram revealing notes of dried fruit and subtle spice, a flavour profile influenced by the legacy of Hazelburn’s original distillery where Masataka Taketsuru, a pioneer of Japanese whisky, honed his craft. Bottled in February 2019 at 49.3% ABV, this is a limited release of just 9900 bottles.
