About this whisky
- Region:
Highland Park remains one of Scotland's most northerly whisky distilleries, founded in 1798 by David Robertson on the site of an illicit still operated by Magnus Eunson. Characterized by its use of Sherry casks and distinctive Orcadian peat, this whisky imparts a heathery sweetness to the spirit. This particular release is from the Viking Honour series, paying tribute to Earl Haakon, who was murdered by his treacherous cousin and later canonised 20 years after his death. Bottled at 55% ABV in 2010, it is one of only 11,994 bottles released from a 12-year-old Highland Park whisky distilled in 1998.
