Kilchoman, Islay’s newest distillery – and potentially its oldest in heritage – began production in 2005, reviving a tradition tracing back to early Scottish distillation practices around 1300. This 2008 single cask, #248, showcases Kilchoman’s commitment to quality, matured entirely on-site in a bourbon cask for over a decade. Bottled at a robust 60.4% ABV, it delivers a powerful expression of Islay character, hinting at the island’s peat smoke alongside the sweet influence of American oak.
