Kilchoman – 5 Year Old 2009 Single Cask #285/2009 Abbey Whisky

Kilchoman 5 Year Old represents the pioneering spirit of Islay’s farm distillery, established in 2005 as the island’s first new build in over a century. Born from field to bottle on the rugged west coast, this single cask whisky showcases the raw character of Islay barley and traditional distilling methods. Initially matured for 4.5 years in a fresh bourbon barrel, it gains a rich complexity from a final 4-month finish in a Pedro Ximénez (PX) cask. The result is a whisky offering notes of sweet fruit and spice, balanced by the signature smoky peat of Islay.
