Kininvie 17 Year Old Batch #1

The Kininvie distillery is located in the Speyside region of Scotland in a rather unimpressive building just a couple of hundred meters from Glenfiddich and the Balvenie distilleries and thus can be easily overlooked, But make no mistake Kininvie produces some very fine single malts as this 17 year old that would complete with Glenfiddich and Balvenie if they didn’t belong to the same owner William Grant and Sons. Barley is the first note your nose is likely to encounter followed by vanilla, geranium and fresh fruit, The palate is slightly more tropical with banana, tobacco, cinnamon and nutmeg bringing a medium long finish of cinnamon warmth, peat and toffee. This one is to savour.
