Lagavulin – 13 Year Old – Islay Jazz Festival 2021 – Mezcal Finish

From the storied Lagavulin Distillery on Islay’s rugged south coast, this 13-year-old expression offers a unique twist on the distillery’s famously smoky character. Originally distilled at one of Scotland’s oldest licensed distilleries – established in 1816 – this whisky is matured to reveal Lagavulin’s signature peat and then finished in ex-Mezcal casks. The result is a complex and powerful dram, bottled at cask strength (54.8%) with a captivating interplay of Islay smoke, subtle agave sweetness, and warming spice. Released in a limited run of 3000 bottles to celebrate the 2021 Islay Jazz Festival, it’s a distinctive exploration of flavour from a celebrated name.
