About this whisky
- Region:
Laphroaig, founded in 1815 on the south coast of Islay, is a whisky renowned for its bold and intense character. Named after the location where it's produced, Laphroaig's name translates to 'broad hollow by the bay'. This Scotch whisky boasts peaty, smoky, and rich flavours that may be an acquired taste for some, but has earned the respect of connoisseurs worldwide, including a Royal Warrant from Prince Charles in 1994. Distilled over two winters (October 1988 - November 1989) and matured for 27 years in a Bourbon Barrel, this whisky is bottled at 41.7% ABV.
