About this whisky
- Region:
This Laphroaig whisky is an Islay single malt that was founded in 1815 by the Johnston family on the south coast of Islay. Aged initially in bourbon casks, it has been finished in port wine casks, imparting a rich, dark colour and complex flavours. With its intense peaty and smoky notes, Laphroaig is often considered an acquired taste, but also boasts a deep, medicinal flavour profile characteristic of the Islay region. This 2013 festival bottling is a Cairdeas expression, bottled at 51.3% ABV.
