Pure Malt Red is a Japanese blended malt, made up of malt whiskies from both Nikka?s distilleries Yoichi and Miyagikyo. The nose is clean, fruity and quite nutty, suggestive of peanut butter and jelly on toast. The palate is quite fruity and buttery, with a clean backbone and additional hints of fresh herbs, brown sugar and spices. It comes in retro pharmacy style bottle.
