Distilled in 2007 and matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks, it’s a uniquely powerful spirit, quadruple-distilled to achieve an astonishing level of peat smoke. Despite its formidable strength of 69.5% ABV, Octomore delivers a surprisingly balanced experience, often described as an “iron fist in a velvet glove.” This expression, limited to 1695 bottles in tribute to early Scottish explorer Martin Martin, represents a rare and potentially final iteration of Bruichladdich’s quadruple-distilled Octomore experiment.
