Historical Context
Douglas Laing’s Remarkable Regional Malts line uses character bottles to express regional styles; Scallywag is the sherried Speyside member. From time to time DL issues very small festive or shop-exclusive runs, often with higher ABV and older liquid. Red Nose Reindeer #2, with only 200 bottles, is one of the rarest Scallywag variants: a proper 10-year-old, fully sherried, bottled at 48% and clearly positioned for Christmas 2023/24 buyers who already know the brand.
