Scapa 12 Year Old Circa 1990’s

Distilled on the Orkney Islands at the Scapa distillery – established in 1885 – this 12 Year Old represents a classic style from a time when Scapa was renowned as a uniquely unpeated Island malt. Crafted using a Lomond still uniquely modified with removed rectifier plates, the spirit gains a character reminiscent of traditional pot stills, enhanced by a subtle oiliness from its purifier pipe. This bottling, likely from the 1990s, offers a delicate and approachable whisky experience, showcasing the distillery’s nuanced character before the introduction of the 14 and 16 year old expressions.
