Known as the oldest operating distillery in Scotland, the majority of its produce ends up with Chivas Regals blends, but a small fraction does get through to become single malts and holds its title with respect, Chivas even refers to the Strathisla whisky as its ‘heart’. With this 12 year old you will find notes of oak, honey, wildflowers and sweet citrus, on the palate roasted nuts, cinnamon pastry, cooked apple which continues into a medium long finish with fruits, nuts and caramel.
