The Exceptional Grain

The Exceptional Grain from Sutcliffe & Son is a blend from five distilleries. North British, Strathclyde, Cameronbridge, Loch Lomond and a parcel of 30-year-old whisky from the now closed Carsebridge. These were all blended and matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, leading to a nose of lemon meringue and toffee apple, followed by apples, cinnamon and cranberries on the palate. A long finish of apple pie and warming spice makes this an exceptional dram.
