About this whisky
- Malt type: Blended
- Region: Ireland
The story by which this whisky is called is derived from history. In 1691 the Treaty of Limerick was signed ending the 9 year war in Ireland, one of the agreements was the exile of the Irish Jacobites loyal to the Exiled James II, these Exiled were then referred to as the ‘Wild Geese’ believing they would still return. Many would-be exiled to the plantations in the Americas and the Caribbean and against all the odds they survived and some did return so are referred to as ‘Untamed’ to celebrate their resilience in the face of the great adversary. Opening this bottle the first whiffs of citrus are strongest with some undertones of cinnamon and honey, the palate keeps the orange but is softer and more creamer with malt for a medium finish with dark chocolate and ginger spice.
