Williamson is a name given to Laphroaig distillery spirits when marketed by others as in this situation with Berry Bros and Rudd, the name originated from Bessie Williamson, Laphroaigs manager between the 1940s - 1970s. This is a 7 year old with only 440 bottles, finished in an Oloroso cask for added depth and colour, bottled by independent bottlers Berry Bros and Rudd. Once opened the aromas of rye, smoked paprika, nutmeg and pepper are noticed, the palate is toasted oak, nutmeg, baked potatoes and rye with a medium long finish of black pepper, ginger and oak.
