About this whisky
- Malt type: Single Grain
- Region: Scotland
On the Shores of Cromarty Firth, the Invergordon distillery was established in 1961 as a way of helping to fill in the employment collapse with the departure of the Royal Navy in the area. In 1993 the distillery changed hands and is owned to this day by Whyte & Mackay group. The Invergordon single grain whisky is now discontinued but was the only bottled single grain whisky in the Scottish highlands. The pungent whiff of spirit is first to greet your nose followed by coconut, soft candy, gooseberries and vanilla, the palate is strongly gooseberry, vanilla, white pepper and aniseed with a medium long finish of vanilla and gooseberry again but slightly metallic.
