Kilchoman 2006 Single Sherry Cask #369

Kilchoman is a small, independent distillery located on the west coast of Islay, Scotland. Founded in 2005, it is one of the youngest distilleries on the island but has quickly established a reputation for producing high-quality single malt whiskies. Kilchoman's whiskies are known for their rich, peaty flavours and complex aromas, resulting from the distillery's use of traditional production methods and locally sourced barley. As the name suggests, this whisky was distilled in 2006 and matured in a single sherry cask, which gives it a unique flavour profile. Once opened the aroma of smoke, peat, dried fruits and coffee, the palate is complex of oak, and smoke but also dark chocolate, coffee and dried fruit with a long finish of coffee, smoke and dark chocolate. It's a great choice for those who enjoy the flavours of sherry cask-aged whiskies but also appreciate the smokiness and complexity of Islay whiskies.
