Suntory was established by Shinjiro Torii in 1899 by opening a wine store in Osaka, the store was a huge success which eventually led to the building of its first distillery Yamazaki in 1924. Today Suntory is one the biggest alcoholic beverage makers in the world, Under its umbrella, are some of the most well known whiskies and spirits, including JimBean, Bowmore, Laphroaig, Makers Mark, Canadian Club and Connemara. This bottling was released in 1979 to mark the 80th anniversary of Suntory and was discontinued only around 1989.
