Born in the heart of Speyside at the Grant family’s Dufftown distillery, Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood showcases a uniquely honeyed and subtly smoky spirit. Matured initially in American oak bourbon casks, it’s then ‘finished’ in Spanish sherry casks, a pioneering technique introduced in 1993 that defines its character. This dual maturation imparts a rich flavour profile of sweet vanilla, coupled with notes of dried fruit and gentle spice. The result is a beautifully balanced single malt, reflecting Balvenie’s commitment to traditional methods – including their own on-site maltings – and innovative cask finishing.
