About this whisky
- Region:
Distilled in 1986 at the historic Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay, this Valinch bottling is a rare, single-barrel expression released in 2001 to commemorate the centennial of Alfred Barnard’s famed distillery visit. Selected by Jim McEwan and whisky writer Malcolm Greenwood, it was drawn at cask strength (53.5% ABV) directly from a Pale Oloroso Sherry Butt, resulting in a whisky of exceptional individuality. Expect a rich and complex character, imbued with the deep, dried fruit notes characteristic of Oloroso sherry maturation, alongside the signature coastal influence of Islay. This limited edition – bottle 73 of only 150 – offers a unique glimpse into Bruichladdich’s heritage and a truly distinctive tasting experience.
