About this whisky
- Region:
From the heart of Campbeltown, once Scotland’s whisky capital, comes Hazelburn 8 Year Old, a testament to the region’s rich distilling heritage. Distilled in 2002 at the Springbank distillery – a modern revival of the historic Hazelburn name where Masataka Taketsuru first honed his craft – this spirit is uniquely triple distilled and unpeated, resulting in a remarkably light and fruity character. Matured initially in Bourbon barrels for five years, it then undergoes a three-year finishing period in Sauternes wine casks, imparting delicate notes of sweet wine and stone fruit. Bottled at 55.9% ABV, this expression offers a complex yet approachable taste of Campbeltown’s enduring legacy.
