From the remote Isle of Jura, a rugged landscape where deer vastly outnumber people, comes a quartet of single malt whiskies representing the elements. Distilled using the island’s famed, purportedly life-prolonging waters from a’Bhaile Mhargaidh, each expression offers a unique character – from the peated intensity of ‘Earth’ matured in sherry casks, to the fiery notes of the ex-bourbon matured ‘Fire’. ‘Water’ presents a delicate profile, while ‘Air’ showcases influence from Manzanilla sherry casks. These bottlings, released in 2008, capture the wild spirit of Jura and its distillery, revived in the 1960s after a period of disuse.
