Kilchoman, Islay’s newest distillery with roots stretching back to Scotland’s earliest distilling traditions, presents a 2014 single cask offering matured to 58.1% ABV. Distilled in December 2014 and bottled in May 2020, this whisky showcases Kilchoman’s commitment to quality maturation through innovative cask selection – in this instance, a unique Cognac finish. Expect a spirit reflecting Islay’s characteristic peat smoke, interwoven with the rich fruit notes imparted by the Cognac wood. Bottled from cask #980, and one of only 239 bottles, it’s a taste of history and forward-thinking whisky making from the heart of Islay.
