Raasay Single Malt Batch #R-01 represents the realization of a long-held dream: the first legal distillery on the Isle of Raasay, born from a heritage of blending dating back generations. This Highland single malt, initially conceived as ‘While We Wait’ for their own spirit to mature, showcases the style Raasay Distillery intended to create – a harmonious balance of fruit and gentle peat smoke. Crafted from both peated and unpeated Raasay spirit, the whisky matures in a unique combination of first-fill Rye whiskey, Chinkapin oak, and Bordeaux red wine casks, then expertly married for elegance and depth. The result is a complex and characterful dram bottled at 46.4% ABV, revealing layers of flavour and a distinctly refined profile.
