About this whisky
- Malt type: Single Malt
- Region: Speyside
This unique single malt whisky was distilled in Speyside and commissioned by The Whisky Connoisseur to specially commemorate The Stone of Destiny being returned to Scotland in 1996. The Stone of Destiny is a sacred relic from Scotland's history its origins are forever unknown but for hundreds of years was used to coronate Scottish kings. Towards the end of the 13th century King Edward I seized the stone from the Scots and placed it in Westminster to coronate the English kings and later the British kings and Queens. In 1996 it was officially returned to Scotland and resides today in Edinburgh Castle. The whisky commemorating this event is from Drumguish distillery from Speyside. Once opened the aroma of cereals, smoke, leather and honey meets your nose, the palate is oak, vanilla, butterscotch and caramel with a medium long finish of vanilla, pepper, and toasted oak.
