About this whisky
  • Malt type: Blended
  • Region: Scotland
Bottled in 1990 this whisky was made to commemorate the prestige award that the City of Glasgow received as the European City of Culture. The unique design of the decanter portrays famous buildings associated with Glasgow and its shape was taken from one of the King of Scots decanters sold mainly in the Far East through the 1970s and 1980s. This whisky presents a warm flavour with dominant smoked toffee and black pepper notes, hints of chocolate and wholemeal and a touch of wood smoke that adds a lingering finish to the taste.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us organically: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. But when we were interested in trying something new to stretch our palates, buying the whole bottle was too much of a commitment for us. What if we don’t like it? What would we do with the rest of the bottle?

That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy bottles from auctions, ballots, and private collections then share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
