About this whisky
  • Malt type: Blended
  • Region: Scotland
Long John Finest Scotch Whisky is named after its creator, John McDonald, who was nicknamed "Long John" due to his height. McDonald was a prominent whisky distiller in the 1800s and was known for his expertise in blending different whiskies to create a smooth and balanced flavour profile. The exact recipe for the blend is a closely guarded secret, but it is said to contain whiskies from the Speyside and Highland regions. Today Long John is still sold in the Asian markets as it is owned by the Japanese Suntory. Upon opening the aromas of honey and vanilla with an undertone of smoke, the palate is creamy and sweet with hints of oak and a long finish of oak and a subtle sweet vanilla.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturaly: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from auctions, ballots, and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
