Suntory was established by Shinjiro Torii in 1899 by opening a wine store in Osaka, the store was a huge success which eventually led to the building of its first distillery Yamazaki in 1924. Today Suntory is one the biggest alcoholic beverage makers in the world, Under its umbrella, are some of the most well known whiskies and spirits, including JimBean, Bowmore, Laphroaig, Makers Mark, Canadian Club and Connemara. In 1975 for the World Expo’ held in Okinawa Japan, Suntory released this limited edition Expo ’75 bottle. Upon opening the bottle the smells of honey, toffee, seaweed and herbs, the palate is seaweed, lemon zest, oily herby and coffee with a short finish of toffee, herbs, sherry wood and zesty.
