This unique Caol Ila has matured 12 years in oak and 9 months in an Octave. This form of maturation by Duncan Taylor has proven they are on to something with an additional short maturation in a smaller cask around one eighth of a butt or around 50 lt, The research shows that there is more interaction between the spirit and the wood in a shorter period of time enhancing flavor and depth. In this instance cask #4023139, bottled in 2019 is a rare treat, and rare it is with only 72 bottles. In fact, so rare that no one dares try their bottle. A true collector's item.
