Lagavulin 18 Year Old, released for the 2018 Feis Ile festival, embodies the bold spirit of Islay with its deeply earthy and smoky character. Founded in 1816 – though its history of illicit distillation runs deeper – the Lagavulin distillery crafts a malt renowned for its savoury complexity. This particular expression matured in a carefully curated selection of casks: Refill and Rejuvenated American Oak Hogsheads alongside European Oak Bodega Butts, hand-picked by Iain MacArthur. The result is a powerful whisky at 53.9% ABV, offering a rich and intensely flavourful experience reflective of its island origins.
