Distilled in 2001 at the Scapa Distillery – one of Orkney’s last to employ a uniquely modified Lomond still – this 17-year-old expression offers a glimpse into a historic island malt. Originally famed for being unpeated, Scapa’s spirit gains a subtle oiliness from its still’s design, resulting in a complex character. Matured in a first-fill barrel (cask #160) and bottled at cask strength (54.1% ABV), this whisky delivers a rich and rewarding experience for the discerning palate. Bottled in 2019 as part of the Distillery Reserve series, it represents a special release intended to showcase the distillery’s character.
