Aberlour – 18 Year Old - Double Sherry Cask Finish (75cl) is a single malt whisky from Aberlour (Speyside). Aged 18 years, bottled at 43% ABV, 75cl. Finished in pX and Oloroso. In 1879 James Fleming rebuilt the Aberlour Distillery further along the Spey River from the first Aberlour Distillery which had been previously destroyed due to a fire. Shortly after, the distillery was sold to Robert Thorne & Sons and like many distilleries in the Victorian period, it was burnt down and had to be rebuilt once again in 1898. Aberlour Distillery underwent an expansion in 1973 from two to four stills, this being the year before the French group Pernod Ricard acquired the distillery alongside Campbell Distilleries. Now internally modernised, Aberlour Distillery became part of Pernod's whisky division, Chivas Brothers, in 2001 being one of the first distilleries to make bottling your whisky available to visitors. Today, these single malts are expertly crafted and made using high-quality local ingredients of barley and soft water from close to the mountain, Ben Rinnes. A bottle of Aberlour 18-Year-Old - described by the distillery as the 'perfect expression of our Founder's motto “Let The Deed Show”'. This release has been finished in both first-fill Oloroso and PX casks.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
