Ardbeg – 1998 Almost There is a single malt whisky from Ardbeg (Islay). Aged 9 years, bottled at 54.10% ABV, 70cl. Matured in first-fill casks. Bottled in 2007, Almost There was the penultimate stage on the Ardbeg "Path to Peaty Maturity," which charted the progress of the first Glenmorangie plc vintage towards its tenth birthday. The milestone was celebrated with the release of Renaissance the following year. Earlier instalments of this series were the Very Young and Still Young releases. A distillery located on the south coast of the Isle of Islay. It is currently part of the Scotch whisky holdings of LVMH. Despite being closed twice in the latter 20th century, the distillery's heavily-peated single malt has always been highly-regarded.
