Ardbeg – 1998 Renaissance (70cl, 55.90%)

Ardbeg – 1998 Renaissance is a single malt whisky from Ardbeg (Islay). Aged 10 years, bottled at 55.90% ABV, 70cl. Matured in first-fill casks. Renaissance was the conclusion of Ardbeg's "Peaty Path to Maturity," preceded by Very Young, Still Young, and Almost There. All were distilled in 1998, with this bottled in 2008 as a celebration of the first stock of the Glenmorangie plc era achieving 10 years of maturity. This was launched at Ardbeg Day during the Fèis Ìle in 2008. A distillery located on the south coast of the Isle of Islay. It is currently part of the Scotch whisky holdings of LVMH. Despite being closed twice in the latter 20th century, the distillery's heavily-peated single malt has always been highly-regarded.
