Ardbeg – 1998 Very Young is a single malt whisky from Ardbeg (Islay). Aged 6 years, bottled at 58.30% ABV, 70cl. Bottled in 2004, this was the first public release from Ardbeg on their "Path to Peaty Maturity," tracing the distillery's journey towards the maturation of the first 10-year-old whisky distilled under its new Glenmorangie PLC ownership. Subsequent releases were the Still Young and Almost There bottlings, with the journey culminating with the Renaissance release in 2008. A distillery located on the south coast of the Isle of Islay. It is currently part of the Scotch whisky holdings of LVMH. Despite being closed twice in the latter 20th century, the distillery's heavily-peated single malt has always been highly-regarded.
