Ardbeg – Alligator Untamed Release (70cl, 51.2%)

Ardbeg – Alligator Untamed Release is a single malt whisky from Ardbeg (Islay). Bottled at 51.2% ABV, 70cl. Matured in new American oak casks. A fierce charring to the cask or "alligator char" provides the name for this whisky. Aggressive heat when applied to the inside of the casks causes the cracking of the wood which resembles that of an alligator's skin. Following the acclaimed committee release, the Untamed edition was launched in 2011 and quickly sold out. A distillery located on the south coast of the Isle of Islay. It is currently part of the Scotch whisky holdings of LVMH. Despite being closed twice in the latter 20th century, the distillery's heavily-peated single malt has always been highly-regarded.
