Ardbeg – Dark Cove (70cl, 46.50%)

Ardbeg – Dark Cove is a single malt whisky from Ardbeg (Islay). Bottled at 46.50% ABV, 70cl. Matured in bourbon & sherry casks. Dark Cove was matured in ex-bourbon casks with a heart matured in dark sherry casks, and the style has been inspired by the history of illicit distilling on the Isle of Islay. Many islanders were involved in this activity, including Allan and Alexander, the uncles of John McDougall founder of Ardbeg distillery. This was the public release, launched for Ardbeg Day/Night at the 2016 Fèis Ìle. A cask strength advance release was also bottled for the Ardbeg Committee. A distillery located on the south coast of the Isle of Islay. It is currently part of the Scotch whisky holdings of LVMH. Despite being closed twice in the latter 20th century, the distillery's heavily-peated single malt has always been highly-regarded.
