Ardbeg – Fermutation 13 Year Old (70cl, 49.4%)

Ardbeg – Fermutation 13 Year Old is a single malt whisky from Ardbeg (Islay). Aged 13 years, bottled at 49.4% ABV, 70cl. Matured in first-fill & refill bourbon casks. This release was referred to as a "happy accident" after production came to a halt in November 2007 when a boiler breakdown led to the longest fermentation in Ardbeg distillery’s history. Typically, Ardbeg is fermented for 72 hours, however due to the boiler fault this fermented for an unprecedented 3 weeks resulting in what Ardbeg have called "The sharpest, zingiest and wildest Ardbeg ever!" Matured in first-fill and refill bourbon casks and aged for 13 years, this was released on 1 February 2022. A distillery located on the south coast of the Isle of Islay. It is currently part of the Scotch whisky holdings of LVMH. Despite being closed twice in the latter 20th century, the distillery's heavily-peated single malt has always been highly-regarded.
