‘As We Get It ‘ Islay Single Malt (70cl, 61.3%)

The branding of ‘As We Get It’ has been going since the 1970s and has been producing outstanding single cask expressions ever since produced by Ian Macleod Distillers. This bottle of “As We Get It” is from an undisclosed distillery on the Isle of Islay off the coast of Scotland. The name also suggests that the whisky is of cask strength and as such, is of very high alcohol content. A dash of water is recommended to help open up the flavours and make this spirit more palatable. Upon opening the aromas of a chimney sweep and peaty smoke, then vanilla, pears and liquorice, the palate is cream, citrus, leather, banana and smoke with a long long finish of liquorice, herbs and peaty smoke.
