Balvenie – 10 Year Old - Founders Reserve is a single malt whisky from Balvenie (Speyside). Aged 10 years, bottled at 40% ABV, 70cl. The Balvenie Distillery is a large distillery located in Speyside, neighbouring Glenfiddich and Kininvie. The distillery was built by William Grant in 1892 shortly before production began just a year later. Capacity at Balvenie was doubled in 1957 meaning the addition of two stills was much needed. A further two were later added, to make a total of 8 stills in 1965 to keep up with the increase in production capacity. With the launch of their Doublewood single malt in 1993, Balvenie became one of the first distilleries to have their single malt be put through a second maturation in a different cask (known as finishing). Balvenie is now operating 9 short-neck stills and is one of the fastest-growing brands in the single malt industry. This is a classic 10-year-old created by The Balvenie Malt Master, David Stewart, from malt matured bourbon casks and sherry butts. It was a cornerstone of The Balvenie range since the early 1980s, but the Founder's Reserve has now been discontinued. In 2000, The Balvenie Founder's Reserve 10 year old won the International Wine & Spirit Competition Trophy for Best Single Malt under 12 years old.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
